Anthropic has released nine new Claude connectors that link its AI assistant directly into creative software including Adobe Creative Cloud, Blender, Autodesk Fusion, Ableton, and Splice. The company also joined the Blender Development Fund as a Corporate Patron, pledging at least Ôé¼240,000 annually to support open-source 3D development.
A Major Push Into Creative Workflows
Anthropic has unveiled nine new Claude connectors aimed squarely at creative professionals, extending its AI assistant into 3D modelling, video editing, music production, graphic design, and live visual performance. The release marks a deliberate shift beyond productivity and coding tools, where Claude has built much of its reputation, and into the software that designers, animators, musicians, and visual artists use every day.The Nine Connectors
The coalition of launch partners includes some of the biggest names in creative software. Adobe for creativity draws on more than 50 tools across Creative Cloud, covering Photoshop, Premiere, and Express. Autodesk Fusion lets designers build and modify 3D models through conversation, while Blender exposes its Python API through a natural-language interface, allowing artists to analyse scenes, debug setups, and generate custom scripts. Affinity by Canva automates repetitive production work like batch image adjustments and exports. Splice gives music producers the ability to search its royalty-free sample catalogue from inside Claude, and Resolume hands VJs and live visual artists conversational control over their performances. SketchUp turns text descriptions into downloadable 3D model files, and Ableton grounds Claude's responses in official documentation for Live and Push.Built on an Open Standard
The connectors are built on the Model Context Protocol, an open-source standard Anthropic introduced in 2025 that creates secure bridges between Claude and external applications. Because the protocol is open, other large language models can plug into tools like Blender through the same pipes, lowering the risk of vendor lock-in for creative studios.Funding Open-Source 3D
Alongside the integrations, Anthropic has become a Corporate Patron of the Blender Development Fund, the top tier of sponsorship offered by the Blender Foundation. The pledge of at least Ôé¼240,000 per year, roughly the cost of four full-time developers, puts Anthropic alongside major patrons like Epic Games and Netflix Animation Studios.Part of a Wider Sprint
The creative push caps a rapid run of launches in 2026, including Claude Cowork, Claude Design, and 15 consumer app connectors added just last week for services like Spotify, Uber, and Instacart. With this release, Anthropic is signalling that it sees AI assistance not just as an office tool, but as a genuine collaborator in the creative process.Published April 29, 2026 at 12:50am
