TIME has named Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and President Daniela Amodei to its 2026 TIME100 list of the world's most influential people. The sibling co-founders join a cohort of tech leaders, politicians, and cultural figures, recognised for building one of the fastest-growing AI companies on the planet.

Sibling Power Duo Recognised

TIME magazine has unveiled its annual TIME100 list of the most influential people in the world for 2026, and among the honourees are two siblings who have quietly built one of the most consequential AI companies on the planet. Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, and his sister Daniela Amodei, the company's President, have both been named to this year's list. They join a cohort that includes other technology heavyweights such as Sundar Pichai and Neal Mohan, alongside figures from politics, culture, and advocacy.

For Dario, this marks his second consecutive year on the list, having been included in 2025 as well. Daniela's inclusion this year makes the pair one of the rare sibling duos to appear on the TIME100 together, underscoring the unusual family partnership at the helm of an AI lab now valued at $380 billion.

A Company Built on Safety and Speed

The Amodeis founded Anthropic in 2021 after departing OpenAI, where Dario served as vice president of research and Daniela as vice president of safety and policy. From day one, the company positioned itself as an AI safety lab, assembling a societal impacts team before it even shipped a product.

Despite that safety-first reputation, Anthropic's commercial trajectory has been astonishing. Its Claude chatbot has become, by some measures, the fastest-growing generative AI tool of 2026, drawing nearly 288 million web visits in February alone. The company says it serves more than 300,000 business customers, with enterprise clients accounting for roughly 80% of revenue. Annualised revenue reportedly surged from about $1 billion in late 2024 to $9 billion at the end of 2025, and has continued climbing sharply this year.

A $380 Billion Valuation and an IPO on the Horizon

In February, Anthropic closed a $30 billion Series G round led by GIC and Coatue, with participation from Nvidia and Microsoft, valuing the company at $380 billion, more than double its worth from just months earlier. Reports suggest an initial public offering could come within the next 12 to 18 months, with some venture capital firms reportedly offering to invest at valuations as high as $800 billion.

All seven of Anthropic's co-founders, now paper billionaires, have pledged to give away 80% of their wealth, a commitment rooted in the effective altruism movement that has shaped the Amodeis since their twenties.
